Days 183 and 184 - Nipper's

Miles cruised 9, fuel purchased $0, mooring ball fee $20, daily high temperature 77°f

It was a quiet night on the mooring ball in Man O War Cay Harbour. Mitzvah and Chimera II were up and out early. They are most likely headed to Great Guana Cay and an outstanding tiki bar called Nippers. We will cruise to Great Guana on Friday. The Whale Passage should be flat enough on Saturday so we will cruise to Green Turtle Cay and stay there two nights.

We had a relaxing day of taking dingy rides, walking the beach on the Atlantic side and exploring the town. Man O War Cay has shortened its name to MOW for municipal purposes.

On Friday we cruised 9 miles from Man O Way Cay to Great Guana Cay. We heard Chimera II calling Green Turtle Cay on the VHF radio. Chimera II and Mitzvah had lunch at Nipper’s on Thursday and then spent the night at Treasure Cay. They were in the Whale Passage this morning. Jim advised it was flat so we should have no issues transiting the Whale Passage on Saturday.

The view from Nipper’s.

We picked up a mooring ball and went ashore at Great Guana Cay. Nipper’s has a golf cart shuttle so we took that up the hill. Nipper’s is on the bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A stunning view. After walking the beach we had an obligatory rum punch and walked back to town. We checked out a local beach restaurant in the harbor called Grabbers.

The Lake Bluff version of Captain Jack waxes poetic

The Mood
Rain today
the mood is gray
wind is gutsy
my knees feel rusty
snow just north
storms back and forth
in Lake Bluff no wonder
there’s expected thunder.

Carl ( Chef ) Wooden – quote of the day.

“Looking back at my life’s voyage, I can only say that it has been a golden trip.” – Ginger Rogers

Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath; July 16, 1911 – April 25, 1995) was an American actress, dancer, and singer. She was known for dance films in which she was partnered with Fred Astaire and she appeared in films and on stage, as well as on radio and television throughout much of the 20th century.

“Sure Fred Astaire was great, but don’t forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did… backwards and in high heels”
