Day 65 - Brok

Miles cruised 0, fuel purchased $0, slip fee TBD, daily high temperature 73*F

The Siren’s call of the west coast of Florida continues to get stronger each day. However the elusive weather window keeps slipping away and looks like mid next week at the earliest. We will be in PSJ for at least 30 days. ( In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous yet beautiful creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. )

The Thanksgiving event is becoming an extravaganza. The head count is now up to 42. Fortunately the weather will be warm and sunny so many people can hang out on the patio of our hosts Linda and Huen’s house. The Looper ladies took up a collection and ordered an $80 bouquet of flowers. A very nice touch. In order to remain sane while laying over in the harbor so long the lady Loopers are working on a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. There were six lady Loopers working on it today including Andy..

The fish cleaning station is near our boat. We watch the charter fisherman bring in their customers each day. Today the Lost Coast charter captain brought in six fisherman and no fish. The red tide is back. Previously we had seen good catches of drum, red fish and stripers. The bait of choice is live shrimp.

I checked out the bumper sticker on the pickup truck we borrowed from Terrill to return our rental car. I wanted to make sure I was not sporting a bumper sticker that was espousing anything controversial that I might have to defend.
