Delivery - Day 7

If we weren’t all crazy we would go insane.

It has been a week since this adventure began and weather permitting two more days to go.

We did not make it to Leland. The waves kicked up to 4-6 feet with possible 8’s on the nose. We diverted to Charlevoix. This was 105 miles. We arrived just in time for the 2 o’clock opening of the 31st bridge. We have to go under a drawbridge to get into the harbor. The bridge opens on the hour and half hour upon request. The marina is closed but the power is on. Free dockage! We are parked in downtown Charlevoix.

The worlds best beef jerky lived up to its reputation. Even at $25 per pound, I would buy it again.

The forecast for tomorrow is blowy with winds NE 20-25 with waves to match. We will hug the coast and go 26 miles to Leland to fuel up and then try to make it another 100 miles to Ludington.

Priscilla advises that cruising at this time of year is not for the faint of heart.

Dale advises that today the boat held up better than the boaters.

No fuel purchased today.

Off to the sports bar for NFL football.

Today’s photo – Mackinaw bridge from the east side. Almost home.
