Correction – Erwin Brouwer (from Australia) pointed out that Oscar Pistorius the “Blade Runner” and convicted killer of his girlfriend is from South Africa not Australia . Bloke – Thank you for the correction.

Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius /; born 22 November 1986) is a South African sprint runner. Although both of Pistorius’ legs were amputated below the knee when he was 11 months old he became the first amputee to win an able-bodied world track medal. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Pistorius became the first double leg amputee to participate in the Olympics when he entered the men’s 400 metres and 4 × 400 metres relay races. At the 2012 Summer Paralympics, Pistorius won gold medals in the men’s 400-metre race and in the 4 × 100 metres relay, setting world records in both events. He also took silver in the 200-metre race, having set a world record in the semifinal.

On Valentine’s Day 2013, Pistorius fatally shot Reeva Steenkamp in his Pretoria home. He said he had mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder hiding in the bathroom.

We awoke to pounding rain on the roof of our covered slip. The forecast is for rain all day. There was a break in the downpour and I went for a quick walk. Dale and Andy went to church.

We asked our new best friend Randy on Stalwart if he would drive us to Lulu’s restaurant in Gulf Shores. Lulu’s is Jimmy Buffett’s sister’s restaurant. Jimmy refers to Lulu as his “crazy sista” The locals advised us that another nearby restaurant Pirates Cove is better. However, I want the claim to fame that I have been to Lulu’s. We could stop at Lulu’s on Tuesday by boat but it is a long day, 55 miles, so it is best to keep going and not stop for lunch.

We met Pam Sholltes and her daughter Ellen at Lulu’s. Pam and Ellen drove down from Louisville to visit her uncle Bill in Gulf Shores. Pam is Mark Sholtes wife. Mark took us fishing when we were at Green Turtle Bay.

Gulf Shores, Alabama – Lucy “LuLu” Buffett, owner of LuLu’s at Homeport Marina, recently announced her plan to open a second LuLu’s location in Destin in a low-key way, via Facebook. She posted: “Uh, did I forget to mention…” along with a photo of a sign at the new spot. “Keep calm and eat gumbo,” the sign reads. “Destin 2015.”
Buffett’s new venture will be located close to her brother Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, which opened in Destin in February of this year. The siblings grew up in Mobile.

Jimmy Buffett has his Parrotheads fan club, but Lucy Buffett has gained fame in her own right as a restaurateur and cookbook author.

Like her brother, she even has her own beer. His is Landshark Lager, distributed by Budweiser in St. Louis; hers is Crazy Sista Honey Ale, brewed at Back Forty Beer Co. in Gadsden, Ala.

LuLu’s restaurant is located on the ICW in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The Mets lost a 3-2 lead over KC to lose the forth game of the World Series 5-3. KC now leads the series 3-1. One more win and KC will win the World Series. As a side note the Australia Wallabys lost to the New Zealand All Blacks 34 – 17 in the Rugby World Cup final.

On Monday we will have our new blowers installed and Tuesday we will cruise east to Gulf Shores on the Intercostal Waterway (ICW).

Bonus photo – shrimp boats tied to the dock on Fly Greek.

Carl (Chef) Wooden – quote of the day.

“The ocean has always been a salve to my soul…the best thing for a cut or abrasion was to go swimming in salt water. Later down the road of life, I made the discovery that salt water was also good for the mental abrasions one inevitably acquires on land.”
-Jimmy Buffett
