The Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City has three Game of Thrones slot machines complete with theme music and comments from the cast encouraging me to bet more. The seat is so comfortable I could sit there and lose money all day in joyous bliss. The final episode of Game of Thrones for season six is on Sunday. “The Winds of Winter”

We went to dinner at the Back Bay Ale House and I had a great clam basket. First time for clams on this trip. Lots of fish, shrimp and crab but this was the first time for clams. I did have a 1.5 pound Maine lobster at the Lobster House in Cape May.

Atlantuc City has an excellent public transportation system. They have a fleet of small buses called Jitneys that make the rounds every 10 minutes or less. You can travel from one end of Atlantic City to the other for $2.25 per person. Many of the bus patrons are casino workers. The drivers we had all drove as if they were trained to drive in the Daytona 500.

We walked along the famous Atlantic City board walk between Ceasars Palace and the Taj Mahal Casino. There are steel piers that jut out into the ocean with amusement parks on them. The billboard behind us says “Greetings from Atlantic City”

The beach in Atlantic City is long and wide. The man who rents red umbrellas is having a good day.

There are life guards stations all along the beach.

We took a stroll through the presumtive republican presidential candidate’s casino. We did not make a contribution to his election campaign.

Jimmy Buffett is well represented in Atlantic City with two restaurants across from each other. They both had wait times of over 30 minutes for lunch.

Bonus photo – great place to hang a hammock. Now if I could only figure out how to get into it. Photo taken in Cape May.

On Sunday George Hospodar will join us 9:00 am to help us move CL to his home in Brick, NJ.  He has made the trip dozens of times in his own boat Reflection.  The weather looks good to make the 40 mike run up the NJ coast on the ocean side. We will make our final determination in the morning.  The tides are very favorable for an inside passage as well.  Low tide is at 7:00 am so we will have a rising tide for most of our cruise if we choose to go inside.

Carl (Chef) Wooden – quote of the day.

“For the most part, a sailboat navigates through its world of wind and water not leaving a single trace of its passage. Nothing is consumed. Nothing is altered. The winds and the water are left in exactly the same condition for the next user. Sailing is forever. ”
Michael B. McPhee
