Day 121 - And again
Miles cruised 0, fuel purchased $0, slip fee $133, daily high temperature 68*f, low temperature 59*f town;
Weather again is lousy. High winds are the order of the day. After making a trip to the exercise room we took the van to town. While there we ordered a new glare shield for our mast head light. It was damaged when we hit a bridge while on the Calumet River in Chicago. We had called the bridge tender who assured us there was enough clearance to allow us to pass without his raising the bridge. He was wrong While we did not totally destroy our anchor/running light it was badly damaged. John recently replaced all the broken parts except the glare shield which I learned must be special ordered from Canada. We stopped at Publix on the way back and loaded up on groceries for the next week. After returning to the harbor we took a walk down coconut row. Where the year round boats are moored. There are a wide variety of boats in a wide variety of conditions. It looks like a rundown trailer park.
Again today there was the constant roar of jet fighters from the Navy’s Boca Chica field where rotating squadrons of fighters from allied countries all over the world train at the Top Gun School.
