Life is good in Hope Town. Most everything is closed on Sunday but it is an interesting stroll through town on the narrow roads transited primarily by golf carts. The only store open was Munchies which is an ice cream and fast food restaurant. We ordered Cookie Monster ice cream. It was dark blue ice cream! Not what we expected. Our tongues are still blue.

We had a nice surprise in the afternoon. A Looper boat pulled into the Lighthouse Marina. We have not seen any fellow Loopers in a long time. It was Bill and
Kellirae from Ocean Dancer. We first met them in Fairhope and several other stops including Stock Island. They mentioned that John and Jan from Mitzvah and another Looper couple Jim and Wendy from Canada on a Monk 36 trawler were in the marina next door. Kellirae arranged a sundowners gathering at the Hope Town Inn and Marina and dinner across the harbour. The marina provides a water taxi to all the harbourside restaurants and marinas.

I mentioned to Kellirae Boann on Ocean Dancer that she has an interesting name. She said she is the only Kellirae that she knows of. Boann is the name she chose after her divorce. She didn’t want to revert back to her maiden name. Boann the Celtic goddess of inspiration creativity and hospitality.

The weather report on Monday in Hope Town was given by a dog. Ruff, Ruff, Ruff. Winds out of the NW at 20 – 30 mph. We are nicely tucked into a Class A harbour which means it is protected on all sides. We will stay here until at least Wednesday. I listened to the cruisers net again today. Captain Jack’s is sponsoring a bingo night starting at 6:00 pm and Pete’s Pub has the tag line “why walk when you can crawl?”
