A New Chapter Begins
The adventure began the first week in October, 2013 when Dale Arnold and I flew to Buffalo, New York and then drove to Wilson, New York to look at a Cruisers 4450 motor yacht. Wilson, New York is on Lake Ontario. We had been searching for a boat that was suitable to do the Great American Loop. The Loop is a 6,500 mile trip around the eastern United States. We needed a boat with two very equal cabins since two couples are making the Loop trip together. Most of the boats we found had a full size owners cabin but had a V berth forward. We also wrestled with the idea of buying a trawler verses a cruiser. The trawler would be more economical on fuel but has a top speed of 9 knots. The cruiser burns more fuel but can travel at 25 knots if necessary. The cruiser can also run at 9 knots and be fuel efficient.
Living large on our new ride. We took ownership today. With Dale and boat broker Chris. We start the 900 mile delivery trip tomorrow.
Priscilla took the photo.
It was love at first sight when we saw Rock Me in her slip.
