Miles cruised 0, fuel purchased $0, slip fee $120, daily high temperature 83°f. We had a very fun July 4th with a visit from my daughter Alison, son-in-law Oscar and grandson Jackson. It was only a three hour drive from their home in Framingham, MA to our Marina at Croton-on-Hudson, NY.  They stayed aboard CL for two nights. The weather cooperated and we spent a lot of time boating and swimming in the Hudson River. Claims by the marina owner of numerous fireworks displays visible from the marina was not inaccurate. However, the fireworks were so far away they appeared only an inch above the horizon.Alison and Oscar paddling in our inflatable kayak.Oscar and John enjoying a day at the beach.Captain Jackson on the helm of CLJackson and Dale.Bonus photo - granddaughter Eleanor enjoying July 4th in Lake Bluff, Illinois with my son JP.There are numerous sight-seeing opportunities in this area including the West Point military academy,  Roosevelt's mansion and the Culinary Institute. We will stay at this marina until Saturday and then head up the Husdon River to Kingston and Troy, NY.Carl (Chef) Wooden - quote of the day."On life's vast ocean diversely we sail,Reason the card, but passion is the gale."Alexander PopeAlexander Pope (21 May 1688 – 30 May 1744) was an 18th-century English poet. He is best known for his satirical verse, as well as for his translation of Homer. Famous for his use of the heroic couplet, he is the second-most frequently quoted writer in The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, after Shakespeare.
