Delivery - Day 5

We have had good days and bad days and going half mad days.  Today was another good day.  We motored 180 miles from Port Sanilac, Michigan to Rogers City, Michigan.  Rogers City is on the NE end of Michigan about 50 miles from Mackinaw City.We watched the World Series in a sports bar last night.  We sat theater style with a big screen. We were alone in the room because no one in Michigan cares about who is playing since the Red Sox beat the Tigers. This morning the dock was covered on ice and the dock lines were frozen.  It is good to be extra cautious and not fall off the dock in the dark.Rogers City Marina is closed for the season except for the fuel dock.  We are tied up to the fuel dock for the night.   We were only charged $30 because no facilities are available.  There is allegedly a very good Chinese restaurant nearby. We shall see.  Ironically the manager of the Rogers City Marina is named Roger.  He is also a high school football referee.  He advises the home team will loose tonight. It was a bit snotty on the lake today.  Crossing the 32 mile open section of Saginaw Bay was quite lumpy with 4 - 6 footers.  Again the boat handled the conditions well.We finally figured out how to get the Direct satellite TV working.  This boat has so many little extra things to explore. Here is the update for the fuel - o - files among you, our fuel burn to day was 294 gallons.  Our mileage was .63 miles per gallon.  I forgot to include the 66 gallons we bought in Port Colbourn.Total fuel burn 937 gallons. We have travelled 602 miles and have about 350 miles to go to get to Waukegan.Tomorrow will be a layover day.SATURDAY...SOUTHWEST GALES TO 35 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO 45 KNOT GALES...BECOMING WEST TO 30 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO 40 KNOT GALES.A CHANCE OF SHOWERS LATE TONIGHT. WAVES 2 TO 4 FEET BUILDING TO 12 TO 16 FEET OVERNIGHT. WAVES OCCASIONALLY AROUND 20 FEET TONIGHT.We are tied up safe and secure.Changing Latitudes on a frosty morning.image7
