Miles cruised 0, fuel purchased, slip fee $141, daily high temperature 90°f and humid. We got off the boat on Saturday night to enjoy as much of St Micheals as possible given the exorbitant weekend rate for the St Micheals Marina. The rate on Sunday drops 20%.  There are no open slips so they know their market. The swimming pool was packed with hard drinking boaters from Annapolis and Baltimore. They where drinking beer with 3 ounce bourbon chasers. Laura who we did not meet only observed drinking heavily, had to be carried back to her boat. These people are not Loopers. They the weekend warriors. Party on!The Carpenter Street Saloon was a slice of local genre. The dinner special was prime rib. I told the waitress that reminded me of the menu at a the Holiday Inn (Jimmy Buffett reference). The previous night I had the misfortune to order prime at the Holiday Inn Solomons. It was a 1/4" slice of gray meat that was cooked under a heat lamp. The edges actually rolled up. Tonight's meal was a great burger with grilled mushrooms and cheddar cheese on a fresh baked bun. There was a rockin' blues band that played "hippie tunes" for a bachelorette party. Those girls set a new standard for spilling drinks on the dance floor. Why dance with a drink in your hand? The bride to be was bending over wiping the floor with bar rags as her entourage watched. An interesting memory for her big night out.Exploring St Micheals revealed many wonderful treats.I walked passed this house several times before I took this photo. It made me smile each time. There are deals galore at the Acme super market. Buy one get two free. Yippee! Too bad the deal ended two weeks ago. Make sure you read the small print. No small harbor town is complete without its very own micro brewery. The Eastern Shore Brewery has been in operation for eight years.A great selection of micro brews.  My favorite was the Situation Critical IPA.We are spending a third day in St Micheals. Our plan was to cruise across the Chesapeake to Annapolis today. However, the wind has been blowing 15-20 with gusts to 25 mph for 24 hours. Waves on the bay are 2 - 3 feet. Tomorrow will be much flatter. The flags are flying.Day 265 of the America's Great Loop adventure is significant in the fact that we will cross our wake in Waukegan approximately one year from the day we departed on September 21, 2016. We will most likely arrive in Waukegan on September 17. That begins the countdown on the trip of a lifetime. We still need to cruise up the Chesapeake to the C and D Canal, around Cape May and up the New Jersey coast to NYC. We will take our obligatory photo with the Statue of Liberty and cruise up the Hudson River to the Erie Canal. We will cross Lake Ontario into Canada and take the Trent Severn canal to Georgian Bay and the north channel of Lake Huron. Then it is just a quick 300 miles from Mackinac Island to Waukegan.Bonus photoCarl (Chef) Wooden - quote of the day."Thoughts will change and shift just like the wind and the water when you're on the boat; thoughts are no different than anything else." - Jeff BridgesJeffrey Leon "Jeff" Bridges (born December 4, 1949) is an American actor, singer and producer.
