Day 58 - hopes dashed

We awoke with great hopes only to learn that the bell housing and drive connection plate shipped with the clutch were incorrect. The supplier admitted their error and said they would ship the correct part overnight at their expense. I won’t hold my breath. We returned the rental car with mixed emotions. While it is nice to get around there is only so much to see in this area. One of the local boaters offered us use of his truck so we wouldn’t need to pay for a taxi. You find the nicest people near or on the water.I spent the afternoon cleaning the diesel soot off the dingy while Andy prepared some foods for future use. While cleaning the dingy with a combination of boat bottom cleaner and Totally Awesome, a terrific cleaner found for $1 at Dollar General, I found several "nicks" in the dingy skin. I hope they can be repaired with some type of paint on coating vs. using glue on patches.IMG_2078IMG_2094During the afternoon several loopers came in to the harbor looking for refuge from the strong winds and waves and trying to position themselves for the next weather window. Port St. Joe Marina is now full.  Phil and Jeannie on Knot Yet joined us for docktails this evening. We met them in Fairhope several weeks ago.We again retired for the evening with great hopes for tomorrow.
