Day 198 - Independence

Miles cruised 0, fuel purchased $0, slip fee $100, daily high temperature 71°fThe wind quieted down over night or it just shifted direction and we are now blocked by a 197' cruise ship named Independence. We could have used that help yesterday while docking.You can see CL near the stern of Independence.Fernandina Beach has a farmers market on Saturday mornings  Andy bought cinamon raisin bread, sour dough bread, tomatoes and strawberries.Flowers for sale at the farmers market.This is our last day in Florida before we cruise to Brunswick, Georgia on Sunday. We have been in Florida since early November except for our little detour to the Bahamas. We will click off the states a little faster once we head north of Florida. We will cruise to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia in the next three weeks.Independence has cast off on a seven day cruise to Charleston. With her crew of 27 she drops off her 104 passengers and brings another group of passengers back to Fernandina Beach. We now have a wide water view.There is an 8' tide in this marina.  Several slips look fine at high tide but if look closely at the lower phot, all you will see is mud.We met a person of questionable sanity. He is a homeless man living in a canoe. He has a pet goose that he feeds on his canoe. I asked him if he had a name for his goose.
